Friday’s call for a little adventure, so we’re taking a look inside this modern New York apartment. We absolutely love touring homes here in Aus and abroad that utilise Mafi in new and beautiful ways. Designer Nate Berkus has established an award-winning interior design firm and his approachable and elevated philosophy has transformed countless homes around the world. Berkus has featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and in publications including Architectural Digest, VOGUE, InStyle and ELLE DÉCOR.

Mafi parquetry was designed in a custom diamond pattern using Oak Character Brushed White Oil. Handmade in Austria, every mafi floor is uniquely crafted with three-layers of wood and finished with an all-natural oil.

Natural wood floors have the unique ability to bring life and warmth to interior spaces. The trademark brushed and oiled surface of mafi flooring means the grain can be felt underfoot. Subtle knots filled with dark brown wood putty are unique to the Character grade of Mafi oak, whereby natural imperfections are embraced and add even more ‘character’ to the room.

Mafi floors are designed to be lived on. One of the major benefits of a natural oiled wood floor is that the flooring is worn in, not ‘worn out’. There are no plastic coatings or barriers allowing for a natural patina to develop over many years to come. This is unique to mafi, the idea that you get to create your own story, live your floor in and watch the narrative come to life.
