Foster and Associates are an architectural & design firm specialising in high end projects. The team is lead by Ian and Jodi Foster.
Ian combines an architectural degree with extensive experience in commercial, retail and residential projects and special interest in energy efficient design in architecture. Much of his experience has gained on large scale offshore projects from Asia to the Middle East.
In addition, Ian has previously worked on heritage and culturally significant projects, including the refurbishment and conversion of the former Sydney Morning Herald Building in the Sydney CBD into a world class 5 star hotel.
From 1992 until 1998, Ian worked as a project architect with Davenport Campbell and Partners on major commercial, retail and residential projects including:
Hong Kong Shanghai Bank (Malaysia)
World Trade Centre – Retail Complex (Qatar)
Rushcutters Bay Apartments (Sydney)
Jodi’s career in international interior design began in 1993, when she designed the flagship branch of ABN Amro in Hong Kong. She joined Davenport Campbell and Partners later that year, and until 1997 worked on such major projects as:
Qantas/British Airways Joint Passenger Lounge (Hong Kong)
Hilton Hotel and Central Samui Beach Resort (Thailand)
Southern Cross on Harbour (Sydney)
In 1997, she joined boutique firm Watermark Architecture and Interiors in Sydney as Design Director, leaving in 1999 to accept the position of Interior Design Manager at HPA Mirvac, where she led the design team responsible for such landmark projects as Pier 6/7 Walsh Bay in Sydney. Jodi left Mirvac in 2003 for the birth of her first child and has now joined Ian in the practice full time.
Jodi’s particular expertise is the translation of corporate or an individual identities into branding environments.
