Revisiting the mafi forest of 2012

In the lead up to Melbourne Indesign taking place this month on the 22nd-23rd August, we are taking you back to revisit our very first installation for Brisbane Indesign in 2012 held at the mafi Showroom in Fortitude Valley.

The concept behind the installation was The Forest, mafi Domino end grain blocks were held by strings falling from the ceiling. The theme was all about getting lost in the forest, or mafi land (as we liked to call it), linking back to the idea of taking time to get close to nature.

As visitors came through the showroom, they were invited to take a mafi domino block, which we would then replace to demonstrate the renewable nature of using sustainable natural timber.
